Hard to believe that it has been only one week since we sent our riders off from Basel. One week later two of them already have finished the race. Today James finished his determined and strong ride after 7 days 4 hours 52 minutes. What an amazing ride!
All eyes are on Adalbert now who is pedalling towards the finish line like a clockwork. Adalbert is a veteran and knows the whereabouts of the infamous Peene ferry. With 200km to go he will get across or around it and finish tomorrow.
Meanwhile Jaume and Giorgio seem to yoyo around places four and five. They passed CP3 today and have reached the flats. Jaume reports some GPS issues. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that he will come over them.
Alex has crossed the highest point of the route (Fichtelberg) and works his way towards CP3. Thomas G. is somewhere behind him.
We saw some traffic at CP2 (Dreiländereck) today: at 10am Tim, Thoralf and Nebo checked in. Jakob and Björn follwed at noon. At 2pm Wolfgang, Carsten and Norbert came through and Martijn follwed at 5pm. I guess the folks at the German/Czech friendship celebration had some entertainment with the BTG riders coming through: Sweaty, stinky but all of them with a big smile on their face.
We are not sure about Dieter. But he has been riding with Martijn these days so he should not be far away from CP2. Jaap and Klaus will reach Fränkische Schweiz tomorrow.
