Here is the digest of day 4: It’s absolutely gorgeous that there is only one scratch so far. Looks like we have a pretty determined field of riders this year!
Both leaders have passed CP2 (Dreiländereck) today and both are now ahead of Retos record. James keeps on fighting hard and keeps the gap between René and him constantly at approx. 70km. René has covered 915km and has almost ticked off all long climbs of the route now. He should pass Checkpoints 3 and 4 tomorrow and make it to the flatlands.
Adalbert is safe in 3rd place while Alex, Jaume and obviously also Giorgio are camped not more than 20km away from each other. They compete for 4th place with Stephan B. closing in on them. What we can’t say is if there are any riders without SPOT in between. Also looks like all riders have passed CP1 and almost all have crossed the Schwäbische Alb.
