At the end of day 14 we are down to 10 riders still working their way towards the finish line.

Thomas finished today. He didn’t carry a SPOT but sent messages from every checkpoint. He road this route in a very routined and unspectacular way and has our deep respect for this.

Nebo had to quit in Bad Schandau because he ran out of time to finish. The last pic that Frau Lubi sent us shows him at CP3 with a huge smile on his face.

Among the 10 who are still going most probably Thoralf is in front. Alex has made it across the infamous Peene ferry at the last call and wrote that he will take in ‘some food’ at Aalbude (eel’s shack). From what I see he left from there right now. I am afraid the shack has run out of eels 🙂

Behind him Tim had some serious health problems and decided to cure them before he goes on. He is doing so at heaven’s gates. That’s the name of the town where he is staying (Himmelspfort). There is no better place to cure his illness 🙂

Especially with more angels flying in tonight: Jakob and most probably Björn and possibly also Dieter join him tonight and maybe they will fly on together, although Tim told us that he will not carry on before he is cured, which is a wise decision.

Martijn has called it an early day but is still focussed to finish Monday which is absolutely within his reach. Jaap and Rheinfall Klaus had some reason to toast with a cold beer today in Bad Schandau: They checked into CP3 and passed the 1000km mark.

No news from Wolfgang but according to our experience no news are good news. We guess that he is just too busy riding his bike to post any status updates.

Good night BTG racers! We are proud of you!
