Same time last year the race was over. Achim, Falk, Steffen, Torsten and I shut out the lights of the lighthouse at Cape Arkona late Friday afternoon.
Achim and I discussed in the last days what it was that slowed down the race this year in the second week and it is of course the weather. We expirienced last year that one or two days of rain doesn’t cause much impact. But a few days definitely do so.
So we are even more proud to have an extremely determined bunch of riders that is still going.
Carsten and Norbert confirmed that they had to abandon because they were running out of time. We hope that our remaining 12 riders will not face the same problem.
Here’s the digest in telegram style:
- No news on Thomas G. but if I were to bet a penny I would assume he will finish tomorrow.
- Tim, Thoralf, Alex, Jakob, Björn, Martijn: Look like they are bound to finish Sunday. And they will definitely, if they have the time at hand to do so.
- Jaap and Rheinfall Klaus do their thing anyway and will take the time they need, hopefully.
- No news from Nebo.
- Dieter and Wolfgang: Also no news…
